The Fortune says it all

Tori got this fortune cookie....we think it is fitting!

a few more things to remember....

  • Check in time is at four PM
  • It could get as low as the 40's at night, so pack accordingly :)
  • bring sleeping bags for your kids if you have them and if that's what you want them to sleep in
  • water bottles for outside activities

Also, we are planning an easy, kid friendly hike to a waterfall, so bring what you want to make that as comfortable and easy as possible for your family!

Can't wait!!

Don't Forget

Here is a list of things we hope you can contribute for the reunion:

  • Bingo prizes
  • baked goods to share {and if you want to enter the contest}
  • snacks to share
  • a box of cereal
  • items for a photo booth if you have them
  • any beverages that you would like aside from the water and lemonade that will be provided {breakfast juices and milk will be provided as well}

Also, bring life jackets and fishing poles if you feel it necessary! :)

Am I forgetting anything??

Tubing

Here is some information about tubing and the river.  :)

Pagosa Springs is famous for the river and the tubing and rafting available on it.  This is one outfitter that offers tube rentals.  You can click on the link to read more about it.  There is an option to just rent a tube for $12 for two hours or $20 a day or there is an option to pay $15 for two hours or $25 for a full day and they will shuttle you up to the top of the river and you can tube down.

There are a lot of good reviews for this.  It sounds kind of intense so very small children would probably not be able to participate, but it ends at a spot in the park where a lot of people splash around and let the kids play, so we could take turns waiting at the bottom and playing in the river and whoever did not want to do the tube rentals could still have fun too.

If you have your own tube, you can definitely bring it.  This is just one place that I have found that rents tubes, but I'm sure when we get there, there will be other places too that might even be cheaper.

Remember to bring life jackets if you have them for both your children and yourselves.  There is an option with this outfitter to rent a child's life jacket for $5 if you don't have one.

On an un-related note, if you can, please bring a box of cereal {any kind} as well.  Sorry for the late notice and thank you!!

A list will be posted tomorrow of everything to remember to bring :)

Cookie Contest

We decided that we should have a "favorite cookie contest".

Anyone that wants to can bake their favorite kind of cookies before the reunion (it can be included as the treat you bring even!) and then we will have a little contest to see what the favorite one is. :)

Totally voluntary :)

Treats!

We’d like everyone to bring cookies, brownies, cupcakes, something sweet to share; and one other snack to share.

We will have a five gallon container of ice water, and also one of lemonaid at all times.

If you would like something else to drink please be sure and bring it. (We will also have juice and milk for breakfast.)

Also, please bring water bottles for your own family to take on outings away from the house.

We will put together a list of all the things to remember to bring in the coming week, too

Fishing Information

The house that we are staying at is on Hatcher Lake.  Fishing is only allowed on that lake with a special license through Pagosa Springs.  The lady I spoke to said that the lake is a trophy lake and since it is low this year, the fishing is really good, quick, and easy, sometimes yielding quite large fish.  If you would like to fish in the lake, we can contact the lady and she will help us obtain the license.  Whoever is getting a license must be present at the time of purchase.  The price for this license is:

ages 6 to 12  $6 for one day and $15 for a week
ages 13+       $15 for one day and $24 for a week
I assume that 5 and under are free since they are not listed.

There is another (cheaper) option of fishing in the river that goes through town.  A general Colorado fishing license is required for this and can be purchased at the main store there in Pagosa Springs.  I don't know how good the fishing is there, but I'm sure we can ask around.  The price for a CO fishing license is:

ages 15 and under are free
ages 16+ is $9 for a day pass if this is your first or second time ever buying one.  If this happens to be your third time buying a CO fishing license, a $10 fee will be added.   A five-day pass is $21 for non-residents and residents (of Colorado) can get an annual pass for $26.

If you have any questions, message Kristalyn on Facebook and she will get information for you ASAP.  :)

BINGO

Since we will be playing Bingo (Grandma Park’s new favorite game!) we would like to ask everyone to please bring some white elephant gifts to use as prizes.

These can be items you don’t want or need anymore but that someone else might find useful.

If you want to bring homemade treats or items to include that would be fine, too.

Thank you!
